A caught a short clip of a young Herring Gull playing drop-catch today at a local nature reserve. The gull carried on for quite a while dropping and catching the item.
What a wonderful clip. And how quick the Herring Gull is at catching the falling object. None of the ones I've been watching has reached this stage of skill.
It was flawless in 4 or 5 catches I watched! but I was a bit rubbish filming the whole sequence as it was raining and the light was awful. I also got another clip of Common gulls playing 'socially', I might add to this post later.
